Gear
Gearing in Last Epoch revolves around finding Items and then using the powerful Crafting System to enhance them. As long as an Item has Forging Potential left, players can upgrade or modify their Affixes up to Tier 5. However, the powerful Exalted Tier Affixes are drop only and can't be modified by players.
Using the correct Item Bases allows you to make use of their amazing Implicits, this is fundamental for gearing efficiently. Combine Implicits, Passives, Idols and Blessings to cap your Resistances and other defensive layers, while fitting as much Health related Affixes or Endurance Threshold into your gear as possible. Plan ahead for your next upgrades and consider the final Blessings of your build while gearing. Finish up by farming Uniques with Legendary Potential and Sealing Affixes into Exalted Items to unleash all of your build's power!
Here are the Stat Goals for this build:
- Capped Resistances
- Capped Critical Strike Avoidance
- Capped Endurance
- 3000 - 3500+ Health
- 50% - 60%+ Armour Mitigation
- 100% Critical Strike Chance
- 300%+ Critical Strike Multiplier
- 150+ Spell Damage
- 60%+ Cast Speed
- 40-60%+ Movement Speed
Gear Progression
Milestone 1
Aim for good Item Bases with two valuable T5 Affixes. The defensive rolls on T5 Suffixes are very important at this stage as they can easily cap all your Resistances when combined with Item Implicits, Idols, Blessings or Passives. Get a good Crystal Wand or Dragonhorn Wand as soon as possible. You can wear Mad Alchemist's Ladle starting at level 17. As soon as you find one, Equip it!
Milestone 2
Make sure your Critical Strike Avoidance is capped. Remember that Woven Flesh is always an option early on. It can be farmed by killing the Abomination in the Fall of the Outcast Monolith Timeline.
Milestone 3
Get anOsprix Skull or Crystal Skull as soon as possible. The extra base Critical Strike Chance makes the build feel much better offensively. Fit as much Health into your gear as possible. Hybrid Health and Health are extremely valuable, but can be hard to find early on. Use regular flat Health until you find them.
Milestone 4
Stack as much Vitality as possible, it's a prefix on helm, chest, and boots! You can also get it as an implicit on Coral Rings. Stack as much as possible so once you take the passive Renouncement your damage really takes off.
Milestone 5
While you look for this basic set of gear, start farming your Empowered Blessings and look for any Idols that can have vitality or echo damage, both will increase your Damage output. Your goal for idols is to get 6+ Vitality and 200%+ Increased Echo Damage When A Skill Echoes. Increased Health/Armor on idols is just an added bonus.
Milestone 1
Find and equip Mad Alchemist's Ladle. Mad Alchemist's Ladle is a very powerful unique for this build as you do more damage per ailment you inflict on the enemy. The Void Knight has access to a ton of ailments, so stacking damage is very easy.
Milestone 2
Get a Crystal Skull for its implicit 6% base Critical Strike Chance. Without the base Crit Chance in this slot scaling high Critical Ctrike Chance will be difficult.
Milestone 3
When all your core Defenses are covered, start working on your Damage. Get Vitality, Spell Critical Strike Chance, Critical Strike Chance, Cast Speed and Chance to Shred Armour on Hit to increase your DPS drastically.
Milestone 4
Aim for T5 Increased Echo Damage When a Skill Echoes or Increased Void Damage And Added Spell Void Damage on your chest and helm. The added Void Damage is immediately felt. The echo damage is another huge increase of damage every time a skill echos.
Milestone 5
As you finish up your Empowered Blessings keep a decent Health pool, capped Resistances, Endurance and Critical Strike Avoidance. Your goal is to have Items with 4 valuable T5 Affixes, also known as T20.
Milestone 1
Upgrade your T20 setup with Exalted items, high value Sealed Affixes or ideally both. Obtain the Affixes included in the Planner, but prioritize the indicated Item Bases for their Implicits. Make sure to Seal highly efficient low tier Affixes.
Milestone 2
Farm Legendary Potential on Mad Alchemist's Ladle. Legendary Potential is not Mandatory but is extremely beneficial. You can farm the Mad Alchemist's Ladle from Exiled Mages, its an uncommon drop so don't expect it on the first kill.
Milestone 3
If you happen to find Ravenous Void, these extremely rare Gloves are great for the survivability and Vitality they offer. They can be farmed by defeating The Husk of Elder Gaspar in The Last Ruin Monolith Timeline. They have a very low drop rate in Empowered Monolith, that can be scaled up to 4% with Item Rarity in high Corruption.
Milestone 4
Optimize your Idols as much as possible. Keep stacking as much Health, Vitality, Increased Echo Damage When A Skill Echoes, and Void Damage as possible.
Milestone 1
Keep upgrading your gear with Exalted Items with Sealed Affixes. Get every stat in the right place and in the correct Item Base. Min/Maxing your gear in Last Epoch can be pushed to the extreme as Items with multiple Exalted Affixes are technically possible.
Milestone 2
Get as close to perfect rolls for all your Empowered Blessings and find all your desired Idols with the best in slot Prefixes and Suffixes.
Milestone 3
Continue farming all Uniques with the maximum Legendary Potential you can find. Remember that some Unique Items are extremely hard to get with multiple Legendary Potential. Good luck with the chase!

Blessings
Completing a Timeline in the Monolith of Fate lets you choose one of several randomized Blessings from its unique pool. Their benefits are permanent and persist even outside of the Monolith of Fate.
Empowered Blessings are a fundamental part of all builds, so getting the correct ones for each is key.
The sooner you reach Empowered Monolith, the faster you can start farming your desired Blessings!
Normal Blessings are not important as they are eventually replaced by Empowered Blessings. However they can still be a great source of Experience, Critical Strike Avoidance or Life Leech for your build early on.
Pick up these Normal Blessings on your way to Empowered:
- Grand Winds of Fortune
- Reach of Flame
- Hunger of the Void
- Cruelty of Formosus
- Light of the Moon
- Rot of the World
- Survival of Might
- Remnants of the Elders
- Bulwark of the Tundra
- Body of Obsidian
Note: Don't target farm Normal Blessings. Get to Empowered Monolith as fast as you can.
Reaching Empowered Monolith unlocks all the level 100 Timelines and the ability to farm Empowered Blessings. Unlike Normal Blessings, these need to be farmed until you get the desired ones for your build. It is extremely important to get this set up as fast as possible to free up affix slots on your gear. Remember, the more value you get from your Blessings, the easier it is to craft efficient gear!
These are the core Combat Empowered Blessings for this build:
- Start with Grand Survival of Might. A high roll on this Empowered Blessing can be combined with a single high rolled T5 Critical Strike Avoidance to cap it.
- Farm the best rolled Grand Body of Obsidian you can get. It grants a large amount of Flat Armor that helps increase the survivability of the build. Teamed up with Grand Bulwark of the Tundra for increased Armor is very synergetic.
- Grand Hunger of the Void Provides a huge amount of Spell Leech for all the spells we're doing and makes your life sustain feel amazing.
These Empowered Blessings are flexible and depend on your current needs and goals.
These are valuable Empowered Drop Rate Blessings for this build:
- Take Grand Reach of Flame to find more Catalyst especially that elusive Crystal Skull with max rolled 6% base crit.
- Take Grand Cruelty of Formosus to find more Wands.

Idols
Idols grant your character bonuses when equipped in the dedicated Idol Container. Unlock all the slots of your Idol Container by completing the Campaign and some of its Side Quests. Remember that some Idols are Class specific and you won't be able to equip them with other non-compatible Classes.
These are the Idols recommended for this build:
- Get 2 Ornate Solar Idol with Increased Echo Damage When A Skill Echoes and Armor. The Echo damage is purely offensive while increased armor helps your survivability.
- Get 2 Humble Eterran Idol with Vitality and Shared Void Damage. Vitality increases your damage as well as your health and Necrotic/Poison resist. Reaching 75 Vitality on this build caps these two resistances.
- Fill the remaining slots with Small Lagonian Idol and Stout Lagonian Idol that have Health and Armour.
Other useful Idol Affixes
Make sure to complete the Campaign to get all your Idol Slots.

Build Scaling
This Void Knight uses Devouring Orb to create damaging orbs and uses Smite to strike enemies with Void bolts. Scale your Vitality as much as possible, as this gives flat damage to your Devouring Orb and Smite. This build also has good survivability thanks to the multiple defensive layers in addition to it's huge health pool. Rebuke also helps tremendously against boss mechanics.
- Flat Spell Damage: You want to get as much Flat Damage as possible. Most of it comes from Vitality.
- Vitality: Thanks to Renouncement, Smite gains +1 Void Spell Damage per point of Vitality, while Devouring Orb gain +2 Void Spell Damage per point.
- Critical Strike Chance/Spell Critical Strike Chance: This build reaches high Crit Chance quite easily, thanks to the Decimation Node in Anomaly providing a ton of Crit Chance. Combine that with the base Crit Chance on Crystal Skull and increased Spell Crit on several items.
- Critical Strike Multiplier: Increases the Damage your Crits deal. We get a lot of it from Void Corruption and Deep Impact. Build as much as you can on your gear.
- % Increased Damage: Anything that increases Void Spell Damage is welcomed. Increased Void Damage and Increased Spell Damage are both affixes you want.
- With up to 40% echo chance from Echoing Strikes, Time Legion, and Avatar of Regret it is worth it to add lots of Increased Echo Damage When A Skill Echoes on Helm, Chest, and idols as it is a multiplier to your damage output 40% of the Time.
- Armour Shred: Each stack of this Ailment reduces enemy Armour by 100 for 4 seconds and stacks infinitely. Enemies have 0 Armour by default and it can go into the negatives. At -1000 Armour a target takes 16.5% increased Void Damage, while at -4000 Armour it takes 40%. With the amount of hits the build has, the stacks ramp up quickly.
- Void Penetration: The build can get a small amount of it from the Void Penetration Prefix on Amulets. Sealed is welcomed for a little extra damage.
- Mad Alchemist's Ladle: Provides 8% more Spell Damage per negative Ailment on the target. This build can apply up to 16 different Ailments, resulting in an 128% Damage multiplier from this item.
- Armour Clad: Grants Damage Reduction and is crucial for any Sentinel's survivability.
- Endurance: It allows you to take up to 60% less Damage while below a certain Health threshold.
- Vitality: Grants you 6 flat health and 1% Poison and Necrotic Resistance. With 75+ Vitality it caps out 2 of your resistances and gives a ton of health and flat damage to Void skills.
- Armour Mitigation: This setup can have high amounts of Armour. Combine the Armour from your Item Implicits and all the %Armour this build has to reach 50% to 60%+ Mitigation. Rebuke also increases your armor during and for a short duration after channeling.
- Health: This build can stack a decent Health pool that can surpass the 3000 mark without sacrificing other defenses. Health is very effective when combined with all the other defensive layers.
- Leech: World Eater provides this build with enough sustain. Grabbing the blessing Grand Hunger of the Void increases that sustain. Lastly with Anomaly even more leech is obtained.
- Chill and Slow: Are Ailments that greatly reduce the Action and Movement Speed of your enemies. They are must haves on most builds, especially once you reach hard content with insane speed modifiers.
- Frailty: This Ailment reduces the Damage dealt by enemies by 6% for 4 seconds. Stacks 3 times.
- Ward and Ailment Cleansing on Potion Use: Cleanse all Ailments on Potion use.
- Ravenous Void: This extremely rare item provides a lot of Damage Reduction and Health.
