Flurry Rogue Endgame Build Guide

Season 6 - Season of HatredEndgame

Last Updated:October 8, 2024|Change Log|FAQ

Welcome to the Flurry Rogue Endgame Guide! This build is an easy-to-play melee variant that's a great all rounder. You have good mobility and high AoE damage to blast through monster packs while decimating larger foes with an onslaught of blade strikes and Imbuement effects.

Flurry is your primary damage skill, and with this build you spam it endlessly through a combination of Energy restoration by using Innervation, Enhanced Poison Imbuement, Momentum, and Lucky Hit: Chance to Restore Primary Resource.

Flurry initially has a fairly limited melee range, so in the earlier stages of this build, you use Improved Flurry to teleport directly to your target and unleash your damage while restoring a portion of your Health. Death Trap helps you group your enemies together after you dive into the fray and once you find Alchemist Control, clearing rooms becomes much more efficient by increasing the size of Flurry by 100%.

While Flurry Rogue uses Poison Imbuement, it is still a direct damage build and is not focused on Damage Over Time. The Rogue's Poison package, Alchemical Advantage, Debilitating Toxins, Noxious Ice, and Eldritch Bounty add great utility and damage to the build.

Flurry Rogue gets you up close and personal with your enemies while being unphased by their attacks due to your healing and overall tankiness. Continue reading to learn all there is to know about Flurry.

Season Theme

Season 6 - Season of Hatred
Flurry Rogue

Season 6 is the Season of Hatred Rising. It features the Zakarum Remnants faction which hunts Realmwalkers, massive behemoths that roam outdoor zones and beckon Mephisto's hellspawn. Participate in these zone events and take down the Realmwalkers to spawn a portal to a Seething Realm. There you can acquire Seething Opals, new consumables that stack with Elixirs for an XP buff and the chance to gather extra rewards when defeating enemies. The types of Opals are:

  • Seething Opal of Equipment
  • Seething Opal of Gold
  • Seething Opal of Materials
  • Seething Opal of Socketables
  • Seething Opal of Torment

Use these Opals at all times to earn reputation with the Zakarum Remnants faction and unlock further rewards.

Skills & Gameplay

Season 6 - Season of Hatred
Flurry Rogue
  • Flurry is your Core skill. With Encircling Blades it hits in a circle around you and Enhanced Flurry keeps enemies Vulnerable. When playing the different variants shown below, you swap between Improved Flurry and Advanced Flurry based on their needs.
  • Poison Imbuement changes the damage type of Flurry to Poison. This enables full uptime for Alchemical Advantage and Debilitating Toxins to increase your Attack Speed, Lucky Hit Chance, and Damage Reduction against enemies you hit. Mixed Poison Imbuement helps you reset the cooldown of Poison Imbuement and each cast restores some Energy thanks to Enhanced Poison Imbuement.
  • Smoke Grenade helps you stay alive by inflicting Daze on enemies and adds a powerful damage modifier. Against Bosses it gives a significant source of Stagger.
  • Shadow Step grants you high mobility and Unstoppable when needed.
  • Death Trap activates Preparation and No Witnesses, increasing your damage and defense while grouping up Close enemies.
  • Caltrops adds a powerful damage buff with Enhanced Caltrops. In most farming situations this ability is too slow and clunky and can be replaced with Dash as shown in different variants, but it's very helpful to take down tanky Elites and Bosses.

Skill Rotation

  • Activate Poison Imbuement. Track your stacks and reactivate when you run out. Avoid spamming it so you can maintain Advanced Flurry as much as possible while it's equipped.
  • Cast Dash or Flurry with the Improved Flurry node to move quickly from enemy to enemy, or just run towards your targets. It is not recommended to initiate with Shadow Step as this is your only source of on demand Unstoppable. As you become more comfortable with the build, Shadow Step becomes another mobility option.
  • Cast Death Trap to group up your enemies while activating Preparation and No Witnesses. Cast on cooldown in extended fights to maintain the buffs.
  • Hold down Flurry until everything is dead.
  • (On Elites & Bosses) Throw Smoke Grenade for a 25% damage buff.
  • (On Bosses) Start with Caltrops and keep them inside the area to maintain the Enhanced Caltrops debuff.
  • (On Bosses) Keep an eye on the Stagger bar and ensure the No Witnesses buff and Smoke Grenade debuff are active once Stagger begins.

Rogue Specialization

Preparation - Spend Energy to reset your Ultimate Skill, which in turn resets all your other skills.

This allows you to reset your cooldowns when you cast Death Trap while giving you some extra damage reduction. See the FAQ and Mechanics section on Better Energy Recovery if you can't maintain Preparation.

Paragon & Glyphs

!
Important

Carefully check your Paragon Boards to ensure correct board rotation. Glyphs go from a radius of 3 to 4 at level 15 and from 4 to 5 at level 46. Some of them cannot be activated before reaching these thresholds! Progress through The Pit to rank up your Glyphs.

Use the slider to see progression steps. At around Paragon 200, leveling slows down significantly and all important Rare clusters, Legendary nodes and Glyph sockets should be unlocked. Afterwards, you can min/max your build with minor tweaks and by picking up additional smaller nodes.

Runes

Season 6 - Season of Hatred
Flurry Rogue

You can have up to two Runewords in your setup, each consisting of one Ritual and one Invocation Rune. Socket them in Two-Handed Weapons if your build calls for them, otherwise place them into your Armor pieces to replace normal gems. The Flurry Rogue focuses on the following combos:

Best in Slot

  • Tam + Zec - You reduce the cooldown of Death Trap even more as you attack, increasing Preparation up time.
  • Lith + Tzic - Gives you a reliable way to Knock Down enemies for Malice and increases Stagger rate.

Alternative choices

As long as you haven't unlocked the final setup or found the top runes, you can also benefit from these options:

  • Ohm - Grants moderate uptime of War Cry to increase damage
  • Bac - Consistently generates Offering in Speedfarming setups
  • Wat - Decrepify helps with Stagger, defense, and allows you to execute enemies at 10% HP. When combined with Xol in your other Runeword it also generates large amounts of Offering
  • Cir - Generates Offering when spamming Flurry
  • Poc - Another way of generating Offering
  • Xal - For extra defense
  • Gar - To reach 100% Critical Strike Chance more reliably
  • Mot - Generates Dark Shroud for extra defense

Mercenaries

Season 6 - Season of Hatred
Flurry Rogue

Mercenaries are unlocked during the Vessel of Hatred campaign and assist you in battle. There are 4 separate Mercenaries to choose from, each with their own skill trees and abilities. You can have one hired (permanent) Mercenary during solo play and a reinforcement who assits you from time to time in certain situations.

Hired: Raheir

He offers you unparalleled defense that in turn buffs your offense. Valiance and Bastion reduce the damage you take and save you in dire situations. Inspiration gives you two great damage boosts as Raheir uses his skills either to save you or to attack enemies.

Reinforcement: Varyana

Call Varyana, the Berserker Crone as your reinforcement Mercenary when you cast Smoke Grenade to attack with Earth Breaker, amplifying your damage through the Malice Knock Down bonus and applying additional Stagger to bosses.

Item Progression Goals

Before you dive into the Endgame with the Flurry Rogue, take a look at this overview of the items used in the build. See below for further details about the different progression steps and variants. Build Variants

Season 6 - Season of Hatred
Flurry Rogue

This section is designed to guide your Flurry Rogue from a fresh level 60 into the very late endgame using the three variants: Starter, Ancestral, and Mythic. At the final step, you should be fully decked out with a great all-rounder build. From there, follow the other min/max variants if you want to optimize around certain activities such as Pit Pushing, Speedfarming and more.

Victimize

If you are fresh in Torment 1 coming from a leveling guide, this is where you begin. Since only some Aspects can be guaranteed from Dungeon unlocks for the Codex of Power, focus on acquiring the additional aspects via gambling with Murmuring Obols.

Gear & Skills

Starter Flurry Rogue Gear
Starter Flurry Rogue Skills
  • Early on in your progression, focus on Armor & Resistances to survive. Each Torment difficulty adds a 250 Armor and 25% Resistance penalty and it's recommended to keep both capped (1000 Armor, 70%+ Resistances) at all times. As you unlock higher power gear, Masterworking levels, and more paragon points, you naturally scale your character into the higher difficulties and can start replacing some of these rolls with offensive or utility stats.
  • Umbrous is an important survivability tool for many Rogue builds. If you haven't found it, use either Mot, Enshrouding, or Dark Shroud on your bar for extra defense.
  • Obtain the Lucky Hit: Chance to Restore Primary Resource affix on your melee weapons to spam Flurry.
  • Stolen Vigor, Encircling Blades, and Breakneck Bandit's are your main Offensive Aspects. The Starter Flurry Rogue setup shows the most optimal arragement of these Aspects when they are max rank as they have different max values. As you change and improve your equipment, ensure the highest percentage Aspect is on your Ranged weapon and the second highest percentage Aspect is on your Amulet.
  • Noxious Ice requires some form of Chill. Chance to Freeze temper is taken so that Methodical Caltrops is not your only source of Chill as it is slow to use for farming purposes.
  • It is important to use one Sword and one Dagger to avoid losing all of your Weapon Mastery bonus when an enemy is not Healthy or Injured. Review the Pros and Cons of Daggers and Swords in the FAQ & Mechanics section for more details. You socket Flawless Diamond gems into the sockets to boost No Witnesses.

The goal here is to progress through the Torment difficulties as you unlock Ancestrals, Paragon points, all Legendary Aspects, Temper mods and the most important Uniques to pilot this build. Some Legendary Aspects are used temporarily to fill slots that may be replaced with more Unique items later on.

Gear & Skills

Ancestral Flurry Rogue Gear
Ancestral Flurry Rogue Skills
  • As you upgrade your gear to Ancestrals with more Masterworking levels and reach higher Paragon, you can focus more and more on replacing Armor & Resistance rolls with better stats, but ensure to stay capped at 1000 Armor and 70%+ Resistances for your current difficulty.
  • Once you acquire Asheara's Khanjar, you replace your weapon with Accelerating. Reaching 100% chance for Flurry to Deal Double Damage is still possible by following the Tempering setup above. Weapon Mastery is your priority target for Masterworking on the weapon as it is a significant damage boost for the Flurry Rogue.
  • Cowl of the Nameless gives a large damage boost by improving two good passives, Trick Attacks and Unstable Elixirs. The unique effect also helps you reset your Poison Imbuement cooldown while maintaining your Energy.
  • Barrier is capped at your Maximum Life value so any points above 7 in Barrier are wasted. Keep this in mind when Tempering and Masterworking as this may give you some extra skill points.

This is the final version of the build's progression, including all regular Unique items, Mythic Uniques, Legendary Aspects, Temper mods and Masterworking, leaving you with a great all-rounder build for all content in the game. Additional variants use this as a baseline to optimize around certain activities.

Gear & Skills

Mythic Flurry Rogue Gear
Mythic Flurry Rogue Skills
  • Tyrael's Might makes it much easier to hit your Armor and Resistance caps, even in high Torment difficulties. This allows you to min/max the setup further for example by removing such Paragon nodes and putting them into more damage.
  • Heir of Perdition is a significant damage boost and has very useful affixes for this build. Keep in mind you may sometimes lose the Unique effect if your allies also have one equipped and kill enemies quicker than you do.
  • Ring of Starless Skies is a great item for resource spending builds. While it reduces your Energy spend, Second Wind, Preparation, and No Witnesses should all still have great uptime with enough Attack Speed.

This setup optimizes the build to push the highest possible Tiers in The Pit after you have finished the Mythic variant and reached a plateau in your progression.

Gear & Skills

Pit Push Flurry Rogue Gear
Pit Push Flurry Rogue Skills
  • Fists of Fate is used instead of Legendary gloves to increase Stagger rate against bosses. Your damage quickly averages out from the unique effect due to your high Attack Speed.
  • In high tier boss fights, beware that many of your conditional damage and Damage Reduction modifiers cannot activate outside of Stagger phases. This means they generally deal more damage against you than regular monsters and you have to prioritize dodging the attacks from shadow bosses while you do less damage outside of Stagger bursts.

This Speedfarming variant optimizes the build for easy activities like Helltides, Whispers, Nightmare Dungeons and lower Pit Tiers after you have finished the Mythic variant and reached a plateau in your progression.

Gear & Skills

Speedarming Flurry Rogue Gear
Speedfarming Flurry Rogue Skills
  • Improved Flurry and Improved Flurry moves you from enemy to enemy at extreme speeds while dealing damage to anything in your path.
  • You remove Caltrops as it is too slow to use in Speedfarming situations due to the hop back as well as waiting for the increased damage debuff from Enhanced Caltrops to ramp up. You use Dash instead.

This is a specialized Mythic variant focused on optimizing your damage output with Victimize. View the full planner for more in depth information.

Gear & Skills

Victimize Flurry Rogue Gear
Victimize Flurry Rogue Skills
  • In Season 6, Victimize no longer scales with the damage of the skill that procs it. Instead it is calculated as a separate source of damage. This changes Passives and Aspects that are used to boost its damage.
  • Fists of Fate give you a tremendous amount of bonus Lucky Hit Chance and significantly increases your damage dealt by improving your Victimize proc rate.
  • The Umbracrux is a vital item in this setup, as the totem you spawn from Smoke Grenade effectively doubles your damage by doubling the amount of Victimize procs you generate.
  • Shroud of Khanduras is an amazing grouping tool that boasts a high Lucky Hit Chance due to Evade being its activator. Victimize shines in high density encounters and the unique effect allows you to create these situations often.
  • This Victimize setup unfortunately does not have great Weapon Tempers to use. Shadow Step Cleaves temper is taken to hit multiple enemies with a high Lucky Hit Chance ability at once, significantly increasing the damage Victimize deals when it activates. A good time to use this for offense would be after grouping with Death Trap or Shroud of Khanduras, but always be wary of Crowd Control effects. Chance for Caltrops to Consume No Charges is used help with Enhanced Caltrops uptime.
