Gravity Training Destroyer Build Guide

Last Updated:July 22, 2024|Change Log

Welcome to the Gravity Training Destroyer Build Guide! This build revolves around generating a large amount of meter through your hard hitting Gravity Release skills to unlock the true potential of Gravity Training. Entering a state where you are heavily shielded and immune to most crowd control you begin to bash the enemy with hammer slams.

Outside of that, this build provides great Stagger and decent Destruction to the party. The main things to watch out for are his lack of mobility and front-attacking nature, this can be hard to play around. Thankfully you are one of the tankiest classes in the game with incredible shielding helping you to pound through any foes.

Pros
  • Good defence
  • Easy to learn
  • Low APM
Cons
  • Positional gameplay
  • Poor mobility
  • Melee

  • Vortex Gravity auto-attacks (left-click) is our main damage skill that revolves around auto attacking.
  • Perfect Swing, Seismic Hammer, Earth Eater, and Earth Wave are Gravity Release meter generation skills with some decent damage and your Destruction skills.
  • Power Shoulder, Endure Pain, Power Strike, and Heavy Crush are core building skills that enhance the Gravity Release skills.
  • Heavy Crush is your Synergy from Armor Destruction.
  • Power Strike is your extra Synergy and Counter.
  • Terra Break is your Awakening. It will give full meter allowing an extra use of Hypergravity.

Alternative Skill, Tripod, and Rune Options

Earth Wave

  • Weak Point Detection - Should be used for increased damage whenever you get decent Specialization to generate enough meter in one rotation.

Endure Pain

  • Taunt - Can be used to make your skills easier to land at the cost of the extra shield but requires knowledge of how to properly Taunt.

Check the Rune Guide for more details on Runes and how to obtain them.

This build is optimized and meant to be used only in Chaos Dungeons. For Ebony Cube please use a Raid build.

  • Seismic Hammer, Perfect Swing, and Earth Eater are your main damage skills for clearing all mobs.
  • Heavy Crush, Gravity Impact, Power Shoulder, Running Crash, and Endure Pain are your core building skills to amplify your main damage skills.
  • Big Bang is your Awakening. It will one shot anything in the dungeon including bosses.

While you can freely experiment with any engravings you want for this content, here's a recommended setup, based on the Engraving Support system:

  • Preemptive Strike causes your attacks to deal immense amounts of damage to monsters that you haven't attacked yet, making it ideal for Chaos Dungeons.
  • Contender is a stacking Attack Power effect that increases in strength once you kill a monster, making it ideal for Chaos Dungeons.
  • Raid Captain provides damage based on your Bonus Movement Speed, synergizing well with the Buff Nodes scattered throughout Chaos Dungeons.
  • Cursed Doll increases your damage with essentially no drawback in Chaos Dungeons.
  • Rage Hammer empowers your Gravity Release skills, which are your primary way of clearing mobs inside of Chaos Dungeons.

Gameplay & Skill Rotation

Gravity Training greatly increases the meter generation of Gravity Release skills and the duration of Hypergravity allowing you to play entirely around your identity.

Activating his identity activates Hypergravity and gives the following effects:

  • Shield equal to 60% of Max HP
  • +30% Damage to Staggered Foes
  • Push and Status Immunity
  • 30% Damage Reduction
  • Ring that applies -40% Attack Speed, -80% Move Speed to foes, excluding Bosses.
  • Disables all skills, only allowing Basic Attacks (Left-clicking) and Vortex Gravity (Z), using (X) to cancel.
  • Vortex Gravity (Z) does high Stagger and Counter.

Destroyer Identity

Gravity Meter

Note: There is a very important distinction, Vortex Gravity (Z) is a skill that does not do much damage, the damage from Hypergravity mentioned in this build is from using left-click to basic-attack as nearly all of the damage comes from basic-attacking. The Z skill is mainly a Stagger and Counter skill.

All attacks with a Front Attack affix receive +10% Stagger and +20% Damage when they land on the target's front-side indicator. Additionally we gain increased damage from Entropy Set and Master Brawler. It is very important to position yourself accordingly as much as possible in order to take advantage of this.

This build focuses on using blue skills to generate cores 3 cores to empower a purple Gravity Release skill. This will increase the meter generation and damage of the Gravity Release skill, then you repeat to spend all your Gravity Release skills to fully fill your meter. Once the meter is full you enter Hypergravity and use left-click to use basic-attacks, if you hold down left-click for basic-attacks it will speed up faster and faster dealing massive damage, if you stop at all then it will slow down again. Your goal is to get into Hypergravity and land as many basic-attack hits as possible.

Basic Rotations

Standard Damage Rotation

  • This rotation is very simple, you generate 3 cores and then use a Gravity Release skill to generate meter and repeat. Once you have enough meter you can enter Hypergravity and hold down left-click to do maximum damage. Do not use the Z skill for damage, only left-click.
  • Seismic Hammer should be animation cancelled using spacebar for a faster rotation.
  • Try your best to maintain your Synergy using Heavy Crush, even if you aren't planning to attack immediately after.

Stagger Check Rotation

  • Simply follow this rotation to do great Stagger. Remember you can also use a Whirlwind Grenade if you have one equipped!

Tripods and Gems

Tripod Levelling

Increasing the level of Tripods greatly enhances their effectiveness. You may only increase the level of 18 tripods at a time. Some of them cannot be leveled at all, or are left at level 1 - these tripods are omitted from the table, even if they are used. Here are the main tripods you should look out for in order to maximize this build's potential.

Gems

Gems are another significant aspect of your build, as they directly impact the damage and cooldowns of your skills. You can equip up to 11 gems at a time. Here are the ones you should focus on in order to maximize this build's potential, listed according to their priority.

Damage Gems

  • Vortex Gravity
  • Perfect Swing
  • Seismic Hammer
  • Earth Wave

Cooldown Gems

  • Endure Pain
  • Perfect Swing
  • Seismic Hammer
  • Earth Wave

For more information on where to obtain gems and how to use them, check out our Gem System Guide.

Stat Priority

This build utilizes Crit and Specialization.

  • Specialization is the primary stat. Higher meter generation and damage to your entire kit.
  • Crit is a secondary stat. It increases our Crit Rate which results in higher damage.

Standard Setup

  • Crit + Specialization
  • Specialization

Gear Set

Entropy Set

This set is optimal thanks to the large amounts of Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and positional damage it provides.

The name of your set will change every time you acquire a higher tier of gear, but the set effect will remain the same. Look for your set's keyword when recrafting it to find it more easily (e.g Entropy, Hallucination etc).

Check out the Gear Progression Guide for step by step instructions and early game gearing.

Engravings

Engravings are a core part of your build. Typically, most engravings will be used at level 3, but some can be used at level 1 or 2 in addition to the others, after reaching item level 1540 and unlocking Ancient Accessories.

Relic Gearing Build (5x3)

  • Gravity Training
  • Grudge
  • Master Brawler
  • Spirit Absorption
  • Barricade

Ancient Gearing Build (5x3+1)

  • Gravity Training
  • Grudge
  • Master Brawler
  • Spirit Absorption
  • Barricade
  • Rage Hammer Lv. 1

Engraving Explanations

Core Engravings

  • Gravity Training significantly increases meter duration and damage within Hypergravity.
  • Grudge increases damage done while also increasing damage received. The engraving is a highly effective damage increase without needing specific positioning, making it worthwhile even with the penalty.
  • Master Brawler because nearly all of your damage skills have a Front Attack property, this becomes a good choice, but forces you to play around it to take full advantage of it.

Add-on Engravings (Pick 2)

  • Spirit Absorption is rarely a damage increase, however since most of our damage comes from auto-attacking this Attack speed increase is significant as well as providing quality of life to our rotation to generate meter faster.
  • Barricade is a good option since Hypergravity and Gravity Release skills are shielded at all times meaning it covers nearly all of your damage.
  • Cursed Doll is a significant Attack Power increase at the cost of 25% healing. The healing penalty can be punishing for inexperienced players who are not familiar with boss mechanics, but it becomes easy to overcome with time.

Level 1 and 2 Engravings

  • Rage Hammer provides the highest damage potential of any level one engravings despite not impacting Hypergravity.

Check out the Engraving Guide for more details.

Bracelet

Bracelets provide beneficial effects to yourself or to your party members depending on the rolls they have.

The primary goal is to get the main stats used by this build Crit and Specialization. After that you should be aiming for Special Rolls to get more damage. Please note that this system is heavily reliant on RNG, and you should not expect to get much more beyond your main stats early on.

Card Sets

Cards are an endgame system that helps maximize your character's damage. Here are the recommended card sets for this build.

  • Deep Dive is used early on as it is fairly easy to obtain.
  • Light of Salvation is the standard endgame option, but it can take a long time to acquire 30-piece Awakening.
  • Kazeros's Legion Commanders is used as an alternative to Light of Salvation, in content where enemies have a weakness to Dark Damage.
  • Platina's People combined with A Voice Calls with is used as an alternative to Light of Salvation, in Guardian Raid content exclusively.
