Guardian Invitations Farming Guide
Last Updated:July 25, 2024|Change Log
This guide teaches you the basics of farming Guardian Invitations as well as how to maximize your rewards and profitability. This is a bossing strategy that still requires some mapping on a fast character.
This strategy offers you a choice of farming 3 different guardian invitations: Maven's Invitation: The Formed, Maven's Invitation: The Twisted or Maven's Invitation: The Elderslayers. Generally all 3 of them are very similar in terms of difficulty and profitability so the choice mostly comes down to your preference and the build.

Mechanics
Maven Witnessed Map Boss - At the Map Device before entering the map you have a choice between adding Searing Exarch influence, Eater of Worlds influence or Witnessing the map by the Maven.
When Maven witnesses the map she aids the map boss by occasionally casting one of the following spells:
- Clone the boss
- Increase boss's damage mitigation or speed
- Recover boss's life
- Cast a debuff on a player that slowes you down or deals damage over time
- Cast an orb that follows you and leaves the pool on the ground that deals fire damage over time, cold damage over time or explodes on impact
Maven Invitation - An encounter with all the bosses that were witnessed by the Maven, normally you fight them in a sequence of pairs. Each Invitation specifies which bosses have to be witnessed to start the invitation encounter. After you kill all 4 Guardians, Kirac offers an invitation encounter for free.
Guardian Map - A map that contains a guardian of one of the Pinnacle bosses: Shaper, Elder or Sirus. Each guardian drops a fragment. With a set of 4 fragment you can enter the boss arena.
How To Run It
Prepare a set of 4 guardian maps. Guardian maps can be run normal if you struggle with some of the map modifiers. The only benefit of running them rare is to increase the amount of dropped influenced items which is not a main source of profit for this strategy.
For the Maven's Invitation: The Formed you need Lair of the Hydra Map, Maze of the Minotaur Map, Pit of the Chimera Map and Forge of the Phoenix Map.
For the Maven's Invitation: The Twisted you need maps occupied by Constrictor, Enslaver, Purifier and Eradicator.
For the Maven's Invitation: The Elderslayers you need maps which contain the Citadels of Baran, Veritania, Al-Hezmin and Drox.
Step 1 - Rush through the map and kill the guardian map boss.
Step 2 - Finish remaining 3 guardian maps required towards an invitation.
Step 3 - Talk to Kirac to open an invitation.
Step 4 - Roll the invitation for at least 65% quantity to increase the drop rate of Crescent Splinters.
Step 5 - Enter the invitation and kill all 4 guardians.
Atlas Passives
Atlas passives are a massive boost to guardian maps and understanding which ones are worth taking is essential, refer to our review below.
The Most Toys | Allows you to occasionally witness a random regular map bosses which progress towards Maven's Invitation: The Atlas. These invitations are much less profitable that guardian ones but still drop few Crescent Splinter so you might as well run them. |
Maven Witness Additional Boss Chance | Weaker version of The Most Toys. You can allocate 4 of them for a total of additional 4% chance to witness an additional map boss. |
Remnants of the Past | Shaper and Elder guardian maps drop occasionally from map bosses. This passive increases the chance to drop them which reduces the amount of them you have to buy. |
Conquered Conquerors | Sirus guardian maps drop occasionally from map bosses. This passive increases the chance to drop them which reduces the amount of them you have to buy. |
Vivid Memories | Synthesis maps drop occasionally from map bosses. This passive increases the chance to drop them so you can sell them for additional profit. |
Destructive Play | The Maven summons extra 1-3 bosses during a guardian encounters which also count as map bosses. This means they can drop guardian maps. Make sure to kill as many monsters on your way to the Guardian to increase the chance for 3 additional bosses to spawn. |
Scaling Loot
Multipliers
Increased Item Quantity - Higher Item Quantity on invitations increases the amount of dropped Crescent Splinter and in maps increases the amount of dropped influenced items.
Increased Item Rarity - Has no major impact on this strategy.
Increased Pack Size - Has no major impact on this strategy.
Map Choice
For maximum efficiency run maps that have a map boss close to the entrance. Completing more invitations over a play session is more important than full clearing the maps.
Maven's Invitation: The Formed - When running these invitations you have to complete 4 maps: Lair of the Hydra Map, Maze of the Minotaur Map, Forge of the Phoenix Map and Pit of the Chimera Map. If you have more of one type of guardian map than the others you can use Orb of Horizons to reforge it into a different Shaper guardian map.
Maven's Invitation: The Twisted - When running these invitations Elder guardian maps are regular maps with map bosses replaced with Elder guardians. This means that you should run maps that have bosses close to the entrance and you don't have to worry about killing a map boss because it's going to be replaced with Elder guardian anyway. If you have a very long maps occupied by an Elder guardian you can use Orb of Horizons to reforge them into a shorter maps.
Maven's Invitation: The Elderslayers - When running these invitations Conqueror guardian maps are regular maps that contain a portal to a guardian that spawns after killing a map boss. This means that you should run maps that have bosses close to the entrance. If you have a very long maps occupied by a Conqueror guardian you can use Orb of Horizons to reforge them into a shorter maps.
