Overview
Hero Talents
- Chronowarden buffs a lot of your healing abilities and turns Tip the Scales into a strong cooldown.
- Flameshaper also buffs a lot of your healing abilities and gives youEngulf which is a cooldown that does big AoE healing through Consume Flame.
- Overall I recommend playing whichever feels best to play, if you want to have another cooldown usage with Engulf, then play Flameshaper, and if you like having stronger Echo and have your empowered spells be stronger with Afterimage, then play Chronowarden.
- Engulf
- Single target damage or heal, that gets increased effectiveness by 50% for each periodic effects on the target.
- Trailblazer
- Hover, Deep Breath and Dream Flight travels 40% faster, Hover also travels 40% further.
- Traveling Flame
- When you cast Engulf, you spread a Dream Breath or Fire Breath to a nearby target.
- Enkindle
- All your Essence abilities leave behind a small HoT or DoT on the target hit.
- Conduit of Flame
- Critical Strike Chance against targets below 50% health increased by 10%.
- Burning Adrenaline
- Engulf reduces the cast time of your next spell by 30%, and stacks up to 2 charges.
- Expanded Lungs
- Fire Breath damage over time and Dream Breath heal over time is increased by 20%.
- Titanic Precision
- Living Flame and Azure Strike have an extra chance to give you Essence Burst when they Crit.
- Red Hot
- Engulf has an additional charge and deals 20% increased damage and healing.
- Lifecinders
- Allows you to use Renewing Blaze as an external if the situation requires it.
- Consume Flame
- Through casting Engulf on a target with Dream Breath gives you another way to do on-demand burst AoE healing.
- Chrono Flame
- Makes your Living Flame turn into Chrono Flame which is a Bronze spell, which will give you stacks towards Temporal Compression, and will repeat 15% of the damage or healing you dealt to the target in the last 5 seconds.
- Warp transforms your normal Hover into a Blink
- This currently only works when you are on or close to solid ground, if you are too high up in the air it functions like a normal Hover. Be cautious, as this has a small delay.
- Temporal Burst
- Turns your Tip the Scales into a strong cooldown, increasing Haste, Movement Speed, and Cooldown recovery rate by 30%, decreasing by 1% every second during the 30s duration of Temporal Burst.
- Reverberations
- This makes your Spiritbloom apply an additional HoT for 30% of its healing over 8 seconds, and Primacy gives you 3% Haste for each rank you empowered it with, up to 9%.
- Temporality
- If timed correctly Temporality can be very strong as a minor defensive cooldown whenever you are out of everything else.
- Threads of Fate
- Causes your empowered spells to provide a chance to echo their damage and healing by 15% of the amount again.
- Double-time
- Dream Breath and Fire Breath duration is extended by 2 sec, up to 12 sec, when they Crit.
- Instability Matrix
- Your empowered spell gets reduced by up to 6 sec when you cast it.
- Golden Opportunity
- When you cast Echo it has a 20% chance of causing your next one to be 100% stronger.
- Afterimage
- Each time you cast an empowered spell, up to 3 targets that you hit additionally get a Chrono Flame cast onto them.

Tier Set
- 2-Set: Reversion healing is increased by 10%, and it has a 50% chance to grant 1 additional stack of Temporal Compression.
- 4-Set: Temporal Compression increases the healing of your next empower spell by 10% per stack.
Priority List
For Healing
- Cast max rank Fire Breath to gain Leaping Flames.
- Cast rank 1 Dream Breath whenever you have Call of Ysera.
- Cast Engulf on a target with Dream Breath for a big burst of healing with Consume Flame.
- Cast Temporal Anomaly to apply Echo.
- Cast Echo so you don't overcap on Essence.
- Cast Reversion before any Echo runs out.
- Cast max rank Spiritbloom on cooldown.
- Cast Verdant Embrace to gain Call of Ysera.
- Cast Living Flame to gain Essence Burst for free Echo casts.
For Damage
- Cast Fire Breath on cooldown.
- Cast Living Flame.
Cooldowns
Engulf
- Casting Engulf on a target with Dream Breath consumes 4 sec of Dream Breath and detonates it for 300% of the amount consumed, giving you very high burst healing output on a 30 sec cooldown with 2 charges.
Dream Flight
- Fly over your allies and apply a HoT as well as direct healing, during this time you are immune to any movement and loss of control effects, you can use this for movement around a encounter, break roots, or simply as a decent healing cooldown, be careful to not fly into frontals or other boss mechanics that can get you killed!
Verdant Embrace
- Verdant Embrace essentially becomes a healing cooldown due to Lifebind. Setting this up in combination with Echo is very powerful when used togetherwith Emerald Communion, Spiritbloom or instant Living Flame casts with Lifespark procs.
Time Dilation
- Time Dilation is your go-to external whenever an ally is in danger.
Stasis
- Stasis is a powerful cooldown in raids, offering significant utility. It can effectively supply Echo by allowing you to cast 2-3 Temporal Anomaly spells within it.
- Do this pre-pull whenever there's a healing requirement early in the fight.
- This setup enables a raid-wide coverage of Echo, which can be used in combination with Reversion or to provide a raid-wide buff through Lifebind into Emerald Communion.
- Additionally, you can fill Stasis with Temporal Anomaly, Spiritbloom, and Dream Breath, ensuring effectiveness in any scenario. If you are using the Blossom Build, consider incorporating Emerald Blossom as well.
- You can also put in Engulf into Stasis to have extra uses of it. Remember though, you need to hit targets with Dream Breath for Consume Flame to proc.
Tip the Scales
- Tip the Scales is great for on-demand burst healing when used withDream Breath or Spiritbloom.
Rewind
- Rewind is the strongest cooldown Evoker has by far and can single-handedly salvage almost any dangerous situation. Due to its massive cooldown it's best to carefully plan when you want use it.

Deep Dive
Min maxing Lifebind
- Set up with Echo on as many allies as you can, then use Verdant Embrace right after a big damage intake happens and cast Emerald Communion for a massive heal on your raid. You can also use Spiritbloom and instant cast Living Flame when Emerald Communion is on cooldown, this does a lot of healing as well.
Min maxing Rewind
- The more damage you have taken, the more healing Rewind does. Try and hold off using it so your raid takes as much damage as possible but instantly cast it if someone drops below 30% hp. Don't let anyone die by greeding this cooldown!
Tier Set min max
- (2pc): Always having Reversion out on some targets helps you guarantee to have 4 stacks of Temporal Compression for when you cast any empowered spell.
- (4pc): Try to make sure you have 4 stacks of Temporal Compression when you cast your empowered spells, Fire Breath, Spiritbloom, and Dream Breath apply to this Tier Set.
Understanding Mechanics
Rotational min-maxing is just one aspect of mastering a specialization, but there are numerous other key mechanics that influence your performance. Use the following guides to improve them.

Stat Priority
Understand your secondary stat priority and the tertiary stats needed for optimal performance during Raid boss fights as a Preservation Evoker. For more detailed information, visit the Stats and Attributes guide.
The Conclusion here is that you want to equip the highest item level generally.
- Blizzard introduced Stat drs, which you should be aware of. To get to know what those are and why you have to care about them click here to get to our detailed stat DR resource post!
Tertiary
- Avoidance - Reduces damage taken from AoE effects.
- Leech - Returns a portion of your damage and healing done as healing to you. (Excludes self-healing)
- Speed - Increases movement speed. (Does stack with other movement speed abilities)
The only time you should think about picking a lower item level is if it has Leech or Avoidance. Speed is nice to have, but you shouldn't consider this stat when choosing between two items.
- Here is a showcase of how powerful Leech is for a Healer:
Gear
Due to the way stat weights work for Preservation Evoker, there isn't a strict best-in-slot list. Although it is theoretically possible to obtain items with all the correct Tertiaries, doing so requires extraordinary luck or several human lifespans because of the weekly reset system in World of Warcraft.
