Wand / Longbow Leveling Build Guide

Last Updated:October 13, 2024|Change Log

Welcome to the Wand / Longbow leveling build guide. This weapon combination is great if you're leveling in a party because of unique buffs like Deadly Marker and Nature's Blessing, but it doesn't compare to the AoE DPS capabilities of Wand / Staff. Longbow is the sub-weapon for this healer build that allows you to kill mobs from a distance using single-target abilities. You also have a Cooldown reduction ability called Deadly Marker and a Mana Regen ability called Nature's Blessing that helps with early dungeons and leveling. Where possible, play in a group with this weapon combination.

Ranking and placing at Dynamic Events pre-50 is difficult since your AoE damage mainly comes from your Curse Explosion combo. However, if you can secure an empty area or join a party for Dynamic Events, you can achieve a decently high rank.

Pros
  • Long Range DPS
  • Party Crit Chance Buff
  • Party Hit Chance Buff
  • Party Cooldown Reduction
Cons
  • Single-Target DPS
  • No Active Mobility Skill

Stat Priorities

Use the following stat priority when following the Wand / Longbow Leveling Build:

  • Level 1 - 21
    • 20 Dexterity
  • Level 22 - 41
    • 20 Wisdom
  • Level 42 - 50
    • 9 Perception

You have 49 Stat Points you can freely allocate to any of the 4 primary Stats. Once you put 20 points into an individual Stat, it takes 2 points to increase the Stat by 1. Do not put more than 20 points into a Stat unless absolutely necessary.

Dexterity not only adds maximum Weapon Damage but also increases your Crit Chance, Evasion, and Attack Speed. Increasing Dexterity is the best method of increasing your damage output. Wisdom is the next best stat for improving your Weapon Damage. Each added point into Wisdom also provides extra Cooldown Speed and Mana Regen.

Key Leveling Notes

  • Focus on the Main Story Quest as you level to 50. The MSQ is going to be your main source of EXP.
  • Before leaving Kastleton during Chapter 3, craft as much Green Gear as possible!
  • When your story quests introduce you to Resistance Contracts, be sure to choose ones that give Quality Lithograph: Accessories first!
  • You need an additional 4 Quality Lithograph: Accessories for Chapter 4 because there is an Appendix Quest to complete a Lithograph Book entry. Complete Rustic Mother Nature Rings to acquire Lethal Fortune Ring.

Gear Progression

What gear you craft doesn't impact Leveling difficulty too much. The most important thing is that you upgrade it.

Towards Chapter 3 you start to get quests to craft items. Before heading to Urstella Fields, make sure to craft all the Green Items possible. You should have 2 Green Weapons, 3 Green Armors, and at least 2 Green Accessories. After Chapter 4, you have enough to craft the rest and have a full set of Green Gear. Here are the recommended Items to craft.

Codex Chapter Rewards

Most of the gear you get from Codex Chapter Rewards isn't that great. The only rewards that are decent are Elite Resistance Magic Scepter, Sophia's Ring of Strength, and Heroic Armor of the Resistance / Heroic Garb of the Resistance. Stick with your +6 Green Gear until you reach level 50. Then transfer that gear into the recommended Blue Gear in the Gear Progression section of our PvE and PvP build guides.

When completing the Syleus's Abyss 1F-2F Exploration Codex, select Robert's Focus Necklace as your reward.

Skill Rotation

Here are some examples of skills you should use when following the Wand / Longbow leveling build:

  • Before unlocking your Skill Specializations, spread Time for Punishment and stacks of Touch of Despair to grouped mobs using Karmic Haze before delivering a powerful nuke with your Curse Explosion.
  • Use Corrupted Magic Circle before Curse Explosion.
  • Make sure to always block Fury attacks from mobs to easily spread stacks of Touch of Despair in an AoE around the mobs whose Fury attacks you blocked.
  • With Skill Specializations, you can change Time for Punishment into Enchanting Time. Cast this ability on yourself before casting your DPS skills.
  • Your Curse Explosion combo paired with spreading stacks of Touch of Despair using Chaotic Shield provides a majority of your AoE DPS.

Skill Priority Upgrade

  • Use Quality Marind Ore to craft Quality Passive Skill Growth Book and Quality Active Skill Growth Book
  • Use Rare Marind Ore to craft Rare Passive Skill Growth Book and Rare Active Skill Growth Book.
  • Prioritize getting all these skills to blue first before getting them to purple. These are universal skills you always use.
