Gear Upgrade Guide
Last Updated:August 20, 2024|Change Log
This Gear Upgrade guide teaches you all you need to know about upgrading and transferring gear to the next tier! What's the most efficient way to use your Growthstones? Well, you'll find out soon enough. Let me teach you how to save your Sollant and Lucent.
Level Up
- Upgrading gear is important because it increases the stats of your item. That's basically the gearing treadmill of most MMOs and directly increases the strength of your character.
- Depending on the rarity of your gear and what type of gear piece it is, you need the corresponding rarity of Growthstone to upgrade it.
- For example, since the item in the image is an accessory and it is Blue Rarity, you need Rare Accessory Growthstone to upgrade it.
- If you're trying to upgrade a Green weapon, you need Quality Weapon Growthstone.
- When upgrading Purple armor, you need Precious Armor Growthstone.
- As the level increases, more Growthstones are required to upgrade the piece.
- Using Growthstone fills up an EXP bar for the item. The item reaches its next level when 100% of its bar is filled.
- Each attempt grants some progress towards raising the gear to its next level.
- The center of the screen displays Common, Intermediate, Greater, and Special Growth as well as percentages for each.
- Hitting one of these growth chances rewards different amounts of experience for the gear.
- To see how much experience is granted per chance hover over the question mark icon next to the Equipment Upgrade Rate text.
Growthstone Savings
- Pieces of gear with Strength, Dexterity, Wisdom, or Perception stats usually max out their respective stats at +8. Let's compare two items, one at level 8 and one at level 9, and take a look.
- Transcendent Magic Ring Lv. 8
- Transcendent Magic Ring Lv. 9
- The only difference here is that one has a higher Magic Defense. Going to +9 doesn't give you any meaningful increase. Early on, if you want to be efficient with your Growthstones, consider stopping at +8 unless you want to move on to the next tier of gear.
Gear Tier Transfer
Why gear transfer? It's all about efficiency! When you sacrifice a weapon, armor, or accessory item to feed it into an item that is 1 tier higher, your new item gains some levels. This is significant because the resources you spend upgrading your past gear don't go to waste. You don't want to level blue or purple gear from scratch—that's inefficient!
Transfer Break Points
- Green (Uncommon) +6 ➔ Blue (Rare) +3
- Blue (Rare) +9 ➔ Purple (Epic Tier 1) +6
Epic T2 Break Point
However, once you get to T2 Epics, the efficiency is reversed. First, you want to level the base T2 Epic to +7 and 33%. Then, you transfer the T1 Epic +9 into it, which gets the T2 Epic to +9.
