Monster Hunter Wilds Release Date
Capcom announced the release trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds, with the release date and some tantalizing teasers of what is to come. Monster Hunter Wild releases on February 28th, 2025! It includes the reveal of the flagship monster for Wilds and two other new monsters. Read on for more information!
The Flagship Monster
The flagship monster of Monster Hunter Wilds finally showed itself in this trailer. Arkveld, aka The White Wraith, took center stage, a species that was previously thought to have gone extinct. Arkveld uses its tail and chain like appendages to lash foes. During the trailer, Arkveld briefly squared off against Rey Dau. Further details about this flagship monster are still unclear.
Uth Duna
Uth Duna is a leviathan class wyvern with rainbow-colored fins, it rules over the scarlet forest as it's apex. In the trailer, we see it appear with heavy rainfall in the scarlet forest. This could be for flavor, or it could function similarly to Rey Dau, where the heavy rain is the inclemency period for the scarlet forest and a condition for Uth Duna to appear. It attacks using its fins and large body, and can create a protective veil of moisture around itself using surrounding rains and its own bodily fluids.
Quematrice
Quematrice is a brute class wyvern native to the windward plains that boasts an exceptionally large tail. During the trailer, it shot fire with a swipe of its tail. It does this by first spreading a flammable substance and then dragging its tail along the ground to create bursts of flame.
More Information about the Scarlet Forest
Previous reveals focused on the swampy area in the Scarlet Forest, but there's more to that zone. The release date trailer included scenes of an area with clear blue water containing the ruins of an ancient civilization. In addition, the trailer showcased one of Uth Duna's fighting grounds which is near a river.
