Forgotten Knights Overview

The Forgotten Knights is a Faction added to Last Epoch in Patch 1.1 Harbingers of Ruin. This Faction exists separately from the Item Factions and is a way to track your progress toward fighting the Pinnacle Boss Aberoth. The Faction also provides additional bonuses as you kill Harbingers and progress through the Ranks.

Joining the Forgotten Knights

You initially encounter the Forgotten Knights upon defeating your first Harbinger in the final Level 90 Timeline. After unlocking Empowered Timelines, in the center island between the Level 90 Timelines, a portal opens that takes you to the Shattered Road, the base of operations for the Forgotten Knights. Here, you begin the Forgotten Knights questline and start working on progressing your Forgotten Knights Rank.

A player can belong to both an Item Faction and the Forgotten Knights.

Earning Forgotten Knights Reputation

You unlock ranks within the Forgotten Knights Faction as you kill additional Harbingers. Access the Faction window (by default, use the 'Y' key), and navigate to the 'Harbingers' tab.

Here, you find the requirements to progress to your next Rank with the Forgotten Knights on the right side of the window.

Progress the Faction by killing new Harbingers in new Timelines at the required level of Corruption.

Your Faction Rank and Progress is shared by all characters that share a Stash.

You can also track your overall Harbinger Kill progress on this screen. Information is provided here to show you which Timelines have and have not had their Harbingers encountered and killed.

Challenging the Harbingers and Aberoth

Understanding the Forgotten Knights questline and defeating the Harbingers in each timeline is essential to encountering the Pinnacle Boss, Aberoth. The process of reaching Aberoth also helps you gain Ranks with the Forgotten Knights and access their Rank Reward Bonuses.

Encountering the Harbingers of Ruin

You encounter the first Harbinger after you kill the Timeline Boss in the final level 90 Normal Monolith Timeline and open access to Empowered Timelines. Alt characters encounter their first Harbinger in the first Level 90 Timeline, making it easier to access Empowered Timelines.

From this point on, you encounter Harbingers after killing Empowered Timeline Bosses at the required Corruption levels. You can check this in the Forgotten Knights Faction "Harbingers" panel and through your Forgotten Knights questline.

After you defeat a Harbinger, it continues to spawn in that same Empowered Timeline. You can toggle Harbinger fights on/off from the Boss Echo rewards panel.

Harbingers have their own specific Uniques that can be dropped upon defeat, as well as Harbinger's Needles, which are items that can be equipped in the Idol Inventory and are consumed when killing a Timeline Boss above 90 Corruption, granting the player 3 additional Gaze of Orobyss.

Defeated Harbingers also drop Harbinger Eye. These items act as keys to access the Pinnacle Boss, Aberoth. Harbingers are guaranteed to drop a Harbinger Eye on the first kill, with a chance to drop after that.

Challenging Aberoth

Challenging Aberoth requires progressing through the Forgotten Knights questline and slaying all 10 Harbingers.

Once you achieve this, you may spend 1 Harbinger Eye at the Altar of Oblivion near the back of the Shattered Road to open a portal to face Aberoth.

Each Harbinger Eye is consumed on use.

Forgotten Knights Rank Rewards

As you gain Faction Rank with the Forgotten Knights, various bonuses open up to the player.

  • +40% chance for Nemesis items to include an Egg of the Forgotten
• Rank 2:
  • 10% chance for doubled Stability gain
• Rank 3:
  • Double Harbinger Needle drop chance
• Rank 4:
  • +6 Maximum Forging Potential gained by empowering a Nemesis
• Rank 5:
  • 20% additional Glyph of Envy drop chance from Harbingers
• Rank 6:
  • The tiers of sealed affixes added by empowering a Nemesis are 15% higher on average
• Rank 7:
  • +1 Corruption gain per Gaze of Orobyss
• Rank 8:
  • Blessings roll their value twice and pick the highest roll
• Rank 9:
  • Double chance for Harbingers to drop their specific Uniques
• Rank 10:
  • Slaying a Harbinger grants 1 additional Gaze of Orobyss
