Last Updated:July 25, 2024|Change Log
In the new Settlers of Kalguur league, the Kalguurans request your help with building their new settlement of Kingsmarch. To aid the Kalguurans in building the settlement, you gather Gold and resources from Wraeclast and the Atlas of Worlds.
Gathering Services
Assisting the Kalguurans in building the Settlement of Kingsmarch requires substantial resources. You assist in locating minerals and runes, finding Gold and disenchanting items for Thaumaturgic Dust in order to help.
Workers do not work for free of course, so you need to pay them in Gold.
Mining
On your adventures you might find resources such as Crimson Iron, Orichalcum, Petrified Amber, Bismuth or Verisium.
Once you defeat the monsters guarding the ore, you are able to tag the location for Mining. An area that is tagged gets mined by workers you have hired in Kingsmarch.
Raulf, The Recruiter
Recruiting New Workers
Now that you have earned some Gold, you can hire workers at Raulf, The Recruiter.
Each worker has their own specialists and wage cost, choose workers that suit the type of labor you are trying to accomplish. You can hire and fire at any time to ensure you find the perfect set of workers. You Reroll the list of hireable workers by spending Gold. This cost increases as you upgrade the Tavern.
Mining Information Board
At the Mining Information Board you can assign workers to process the Ore that you’ve retrieved. The workers continue their work in real time, without requiring you to be logged in. The mining time can be reduced by hiring better workers, or upgrading your Mining Station in Kingsmarch.
Upgrading Features
Each part of the Town can be upgraded with Gold to unlock new features or empower current features. For example, Upgrading the Tavern provides you with new features, more town population, better quality workers and new specialties for workers.
When you upgrade the Mining station you get access to processing rarer materials, increases mining speed and access to more Miners.
Smelting
Upon building a Smelter at Dannig, the Blacksmith, you can begin smelting your ore into more valuable bars.
Disenchanting
At Rog, The Disenchanter, you establish Disenchanting. You gain Thaumaturgic Dust through Disenchanting Magic, Rare and Unique items. You use Thaumaturgic Dust for Recombinating items and sending in shipments.
Farming
With all of the new workers in your Settlement, you need to provide them with food. Every port has specific Foods that it pays extra for on Shipments.
Upgrading
Upgrading your Farming allows additional crops to be grown, extra Farmers and additional Farming Plots. Your workers handle all of the labor, so once you select your crop for a Farming Plot, it is grown automatically.
Town Map
At the Town Map you manage all parts of the Settlement in one convenient location
The town map shows you all the resources available to your Settlement. With the excess resources that you have, you want to sell them with Shipping unlocked at the Harbour.
Shipping
As you build the Harbour and establish Shipping, you are able to sell excess goods to other port cities. Upgrading Shipping allows you to hire additional crew, additional shipping locations and additional ships. Speaking to Tujen, The Harbourmaster gives you access to the Harbour to manage your shipments.
Select any tradable, stackable items to be exchanged in this Window. When selecting a currency to list for a trade, it Shipments can be sent to various ports and each one has specific rewards based on the resources they were sent. They accept all types of resources, but have a preferred type that they are willing to pay more for.
Sending shipments does not come without risks, as sailors can be lost or shipments can be attacked by Pirates.
Shipment rewards contain most everything including Unique Items, Currency, Maps and Heist Contracts.
As you Prepare your shipments, take caution with how many items you send at once, as the risk meter will grow based on the shipment size.
Hiring workers who specialize in Shipping will decrease the odds of severe outcomes occurring. As you Prepare your shipments, take caution with how many items you send at once, as the risk meter will grow based on the shipment size.
Atlas Runners
Speaking to Isla, allows you to craft up to 3 map devices that you can fill with up to 10 maps each for your atlas runners to complete. Atlas runners have varying success based on the difficulty of the map and the skill of the runner.
Maps that are especially tough require you to have experienced atlas runners to get full completion on them. When sending an Atlas Runner on a difficult Map, you run the risk of losing them. An Atlas Runner who has failed the map, provides partial rewards but does not return themselves.
Runesmithing
By crafting a Runesmithing Table Dannig, the Blacksmith enchants your weapons with powerful magic using Runes.
For various rune combinations you can apply powerful Runic Enchantments to your weapons. Each Weapon type has special Runic Enchantments available for it.
You gather Runes through trades with Kalguurans or by defeating powerful bosses.
Recombination
Isla also offers Recombination Services using Gold and Thaumaturgic Dust. You gain Thaumaturgic Dust through Disenchanting items at Rog.
Recombination allows you to combine items in an attempt to get the best modifiers from both onto a single item.
Currency Exchange Market
In the Settlement of Kingsmarch, Faustus offers you access to the Currency Exchange Market. This is where you use Gold to trade for any stackable items with other players without the hassle of a lot of trades. Check out the guide to using the Currency Exchange Market here.
Black Market
Faustus also provides the Black Market, allowing you to purchase items for Gold. These items are generated with a random rarity and have better than normal modifiers. This is a great source of easy upgrades or great starting points for crafting.
Gold Talent Respec
With your excess Gold, you can now use it to respec skill points through Faustus without using Orbs of Regret. The cost scales with level so take advantage of this through early leveling.
Dangers to Your Settlement
As your settlement grows it gains attention from those both good and bad. One of the 3 new bosses is Sasan, the Bandit Lord. As your settlement grows in size, Sasan takes your atlas runners hostage in the night for ransom. You have the option to abandon your workers, pay the ransom or rescue them by defeating the boss.
Abandoning workers or shipments causes you to lose all resources, rewards and workers.
