Stone Burst Druid Endgame Build Guide
Last Updated:October 7, 2024|Change Log|FAQ
Welcome to the Stone Burst Druid Endgame Guide! This build combines massive AoE damage with a straightforward playstyle. The synergy between Stone Burst and Anticline Burst creates a powerful stone explosion at the max size. Stone of Vehemen increases our damage even further. To optimize damage, aim and hit as many enemies as possible within the explosion radius.
Unfortunately, since Stone Burst is a channeling skill, this build does not benefit from Overpower mechanics. However, it compensates by capitalizing on consistent Critical Strike Chance and high AoE damage, boosted by key multipliers such as Retaliation and Earthen Devastation.
Once you acquire Vasily's Prayer, you gain reliable Shapeshifting bonuses such as Bestial Rampage and Survival Instincts.
Requirements for this build
- Stone of Vehemen
- Vasily's Prayer
- Wildheart Hunger (Must have Vasily's Prayer to turn into Werebear and effectively use Bestial Rampage)
Note that the Shroud of False Death has been temporarily disabled for the launch of Season 6. Don't waste your mats trying to get it until fixed!
This build guide assumes you have a Level 60 Character and unlocked Torment 1. To get there, level up with one of our Druid Leveling Guides. See how this Build compares against others with our various Build Tier Lists.

Skills & Gameplay
- Stone Burst is your Core Skill, unleashing stone explosions for huge AoE damage. Use Raging Stone Burst to increase your damage in exchange for a higher Spirit cost. Group enemies together before casting the skill to optimize you damage. Anticline Burst will significantly boosts both the damage and area of effect, making your bursts even more devastating.
- Wind Shear is your early-game Spirit generator, allowing you to deal single-target damage and apply Vulnerable to enemies. Once you acquire Vasily's Prayer, switch to Claw as your primary Spirit generator. Claw is a fast-hitting Werewolf attack that stacks Shapeshifting bonuses and synergizes with Bestial Rampage, which greatly increases your damage and Attack Speed after Shapeshifting.
- Cyclone Armor - One point in Cyclone Armor gives you a powerful defensive option, use this to gain Non-Physical Damage Reduction.
- Earthen Bulwark provides a Barrier and Unstoppable, both valuable defensive utilities.
- Poison Creeper plays a key role in your damage rotation. It deals Poison damage and immobilizes enemies. Pack Leader allows you to reset the cooldown for continuous use.
- Petrify is your ultimate damage amplifier. It immobilizes enemies and dramatically increases your Critical Strike damage, making it perfect for both crowd control and eliminating elites. Thanks to Calm Before the Storm, Petrify's cooldown is reduced as you use your other skills, allowing you to activate it more frequently in critical moments.
Skill Rotation
- Cast Poison Creeper to apply Poison and Immobilize enemies, activating Envenom and Heightened Malice.
- Tap Stone Burst repeatedly to unleash its powerful AoE, making sure to hit as many Poisoned enemies as possible. The Lucky Hit Chance from Stone Burst helps you reset Poison Creeper's cooldown through Pack Leader. Continue tapping Stone Burst as your main damage dealer.
- Use Wind Shear or Claw to generate Spirit when needed. Once you acquire Vasily's Prayer, switch to Claw for faster Spirit generation and to maintain Shapeshifting bonuses. Use your generator only when low on Spirit; prioritize spamming Stone Burst whenever possible.
- Activate Blood Howl for healing and additional Spirit or Attack Speed, especially in dense groups of enemies where its cooldown will refresh rapidly due to enemy kills.
- On Elites & Bosses, cast Petrify at the beginning of Stagger, using its surge of Spirit to spam Stone Burst and maximize your burst damage.
Spirit Boons
Druids can choose 5 out of 16 Passive bonuses (Boons) from 4 different spirits. You have to bond with one of the Spirits in Túr Dúlra to activate two of its Boons. The remaining Spirits can only have one Boon each. Use the following Boons:
Deer Spirit: Wariness
Eagle Spirit: Avian Wrath
Wolf Spirit: Packleader
Snake Spirit: Calm Before the Storm
Bond with the Eagle Spirit and activate Iron Feather
If you are having Spirit problems, then bond with Wolf Spirit and activate Energize instead.

Paragon & Glyphs
Carefully check your Paragon Boards to ensure correct board rotation. Glyphs go from a radius of 3 to 4 at level 15 and from 4 to 5 at level 46. Some of them cannot be activated before reaching these thresholds! Progress through The Pit to rank up your Glyphs.
Use the slider to see the progression steps. At around Paragon 200, leveling slows down significantly and all important Rare clusters, Legendary nodes and Glyph sockets should be unlocked. Afterwards, you can min/max your build with minor tweaks and by picking up additional smaller nodes.
Some Glyph position swaps, board changes and other pathing adjustments may occur as you unlock your full potential. The setup displayed by default is the final version of the build before spending additional points that do not significantly impact your character's power.
Glyph Leveling Priorities
To Level 15
- Tectonic
- Earth and Sky
- Outmatch
- Spirit
- Headhunter
To Level 46
- Spirit
- Tectonic
- Earth and Sky
- Outmatch
- Headhunter
There are a total of 328 Paragon Points. After reaching level 60, you gain up to 300 Paragon Levels, 24 from Renown and 4 from Altars of Lilith. Check out our dedicated in-depth guides to learn more about Paragon Boards and Glyphs.
Runes
You can have up to two Runewords in your setup, each consisting of one Ritual and one Invocation Rune. Socket them in Two-Handed Weapons if your build calls for them, otherwise place them into your Armor pieces to replace normal gems. The Stone Burst Duid focuses on the following combos:
Best in Slot
- Yul + Wat - Decrepify helps with stagger, defense and allows you to execute enemies at 10% HP. When combined with Xol in your other Runeword, it also generates large amounts of offering.
- Xol + Yom - Petrify provides Crowd Control and Spirit every time it activates.
Alternative choices
If you haven't unlocked the final setup or found the top runes, you can also benefit from these options:
- Gar - The Crit Chance bonus is great, especially early on.
- Cem - As a Magic Rune, it's a reasonable choice that you're more likely to find.
- Mot - Dark Shroud is a strong and affordable defensive option.
- Lith - A surprisingly strong Invocation, provided you can afford to stand still.
- Poc - Alternative to Yul to gain Offering.
- Que - Investing 2 Skill Points to reach Enhanced Earthen Bulwark allows you to become Unstoppable and maintain Barrier.
Learn more about Runes and how they work in our dedicated Runewords Overview and Runewords Tier List.
Mercenaries
Mercenaries are unlocked during the Vessel of Hatred campaign and assist you in battle. There are 4 separate Mercenaries to choose from, each with their own skill trees and abilities. You can have one hired (permanent) mercenary during solo play and a reinforcement who assists you from time to time in certain situations.
- Hired: Varyana
She provides you with increased Movement Speed as you gain Massacre Stacks. Remember that Massacre stacks reset if you have not killed any enemies after 7 seconds. She also provides Attack Speed and even more Attack Speed when she activates Bloodthirst.
- Reinforcement: Raheir
Choose Bastion for a surge of Damage Reduction when you need it most.

Stat Priorities & Item Progression
To enable the Stone Burst to perform optimally, hunt for these stats on your gear with good rolls and aim to Temper ⚒️ & Masterwork Crit ↑ them accordingly. Keep in mind that certain stats, such as Armor, Resistances, Extra Size Tempers, Attack Speed and more, have caps that may affect your priorities according to the items and Paragon points available at that moment.
Recommended Endgame Stat Thresholds
- 100%+ Critical Strike Chance (with added Earth
Critical Chance from Earth Finesse Temper) - 70%+ Attack Speed
- 250%+ Damage vs. Crowd Controlled
- 3000+ Willpower
- Armor Capped 1,000
- Resistance Capped 70%+
- 6,000+ Life
Item Progression Goals
Before you dive into the Endgame with the Stone Burst Druid, take a look at this overview of the items used in the build. See below for further details about the different progression steps and variants. Some of your Skill Tree choices depend on what Legendary Aspects and Unique items are available to you. Keep in mind that while we can guarantee that everyone has access to the same Codex of Power Aspects, the exact progression is different for everyone.
Learn more details and how to farm Legendary Aspects and Uniques in our General Farming Guide.
Build Variants
This section is designed to guide your Stone Burst Druid from a fresh level 60 into the very late endgame using the three variants Starter, Ancestral and Mythic. At the final step, you should be fully decked out with a great all-rounder build. From there, follow the other min/max variants if you want to optimize around certain activities such as Pit Pushing, Speedfarming and more.
If you are fresh in Torment 1 coming from a leveling guide, this is where you begin. Since only some Aspects can be guaranteed from Dungeon unlocks for the Codex of Power, focus on acquiring the additional aspects via gambling with Murmuring Obols.
Gear & Skills
- Early on in your progression, focus on Armor & Resistances to survive. Each Torment difficulty adds a penalty of -250 Armor and -25% all Res and it's recommended to keep both capped (1000 Armor, 70+ Res) at all times. As you unlock higher power gear, masterworking levels and more Paragon points, you naturally scale your character into the higher difficulties and can start replacing some of these rolls with offensive or utility stats.
- In this Starter variant use Juggernaut's or Disobedience to cap out armor and Might for much needed damage reduction.
- Work toward obtaining Vasily's Prayer from Varshan and Wildheart Hunger from Zir. These items allow you to switch your Key Passive to Bestial Rampage, granting powerful Shapeshifting bonuses and enhancing your overall damage and survivability.
- To reach maximum damage potential with the Stone Burst Druid, it’s essential to acquire Anticline Burst, which significantly boosts the damage and area of Stone Burst. Pair this with Stone of Vehemen to further amplify your AoE and burst damage.
- To consistently spam Stone Burst, it’s crucial to have Lucky Hit Chance: Primary Resource on both your weapons to help maintain Spirit. Earthen Might also generates Spirit through Critical Strikes and Lucky Hits, while Petrify provides a powerful damage boost and crowd control during tougher encounters.
The goal here is to progress through the Torment difficulties as you unlock Ancestrals, Paragon points, all Legendary Aspects, Temper mods and the most important Uniques to pilot this build. Some Legendary Aspects are used temporarily to fill slots that may be replaced with more Unique items later on.
Gear & Skills
- As you upgrade your gear to Ancestrals with more masterworking levels and reach higher paragon, you can focus more and more on replacing Armor & Resistance rolls with better stats, but ensure to stay capped at 1000 Armor and 70%+ Resistances for the difficulty you're currently in.
- From the time you reach Earthen Devastation in your Paragon Board, be mindful of your Damage to Crowd Controlled Enemies bonus. The target for this stat is 250%, and your personal value will depend on the nodes taken on this board, your Offensive Tempers, and the level of Earth and Sky your glyph. Over time, you'll be able to exchange Offensive tempers from Damage to Crowd Controlled Enemies to Earth Critical Strike Chance.
- Once you've acquired the Core Uniques for this build, you can transition to what is essentially the final version, with a skill tree, playstyle, and paragon board slightly different to those described in the main sections of this guide. The addition of Mythic Uniques from this point are more build-enhancing than build-enabling.
This is the final version of the build's progression, including all regular Unique items, Mythic Uniques, Legendary Aspects, Temper mods and Masterworking, leaving you with a great all-rounder build for all content in the game. Additional variants use this as a baseline to optimize around certain activities.
Gear & Skills
- Ring of Starless Skies is a very popular choice for its overstatted Critical Strike Chance and Attack Speed rolls and insane Unique effect. The double All Resistance implicit is pretty great, too, with the difficulty changes. Make sure to cast Stone Burst at least every 3 seconds in combat to maintain its bonuses.
- Shroud of False Death is an excellent addition, as its +1 to All Passive skills implicit is a massive offensive and defensive boon. On top of that, its All Stats roll is helpful for capping Critical Strike Chance, Armor, and Resistances and meeting Rare Node requirements in the paragon board. The stealth is great for moving and setting up between packs. Though not nearly as much damage, Tyrael's Might is always worth consideration as you ascend through Torment Tiers to combat the Resistance and Armor penalties. Socket Skulls in your jewelry if you go this route.
For Speedfarming version, you take Primal Shred so you can dash through the mobs and travel faster.
Gear & Skills
- Switch points from Iron Fur into Digitigrade Gait.
- Swap Cyclone Armor for Shred, removing excess points from Ancestral Fortitude.
- If you expect minimal Boss encounters, exchange Subterranean with Crashstone.
There is no change from the Mythic Bestial version.
Gear & Skills
- When fighting monsters in high tiers of the Pit, remember that after crowd controlling elites for 5 seconds, they become Unstoppable for 8 seconds. This may be the right moment to start kiting them around because your damage done goes way down and they can freely retaliate.
- In high tier boss fights, beware that many of your conditional damage and damage reduction modifiers cannot activate outside of stagger phases. This means they generally deal more damage against you than regular monsters and you have to prioritize dodging the attacks from shadow bosses while you can barely scratch them outside of stagger bursts.
This setup optimizes for Human form using Earthen Might Key Passive and could be easier to transition from the early game. Bestial Rampage version is has more damage and survivability.
Gear & Skills
- Replace Vasily's Prayer with Heir of Perdition. You need to switch to Earthen Might Key passive and switch Survival Instincts paragon board to Constricting Tendrils.
